Who can believe it is 2012? Since it is already January 5th I thought it was about time I brought last year’s blog entries up to date, ready to start fresh for the New Year. November seems so VERY long ago that I am going to have to try really hard to remember what exactly we got up to but I will try my best, here goes.

Jacob Graduating |
Let’s start with Jacob’s graduation from Kindy. This was an emotional evening for me and Jason. For over 3 years Jacob has LOVED attending Kindy, has learned a lot and made some great friendships. To think this was all coming to an end and our little man would be starting school after the summer holidays can’t help but make any parent a wee bit sad. Despite the emotion it was a lovely night, where all the kids got their moment in the spotlight, walking in wearing their mortarboards and graduation capes to receive their certificates of achievement. Then all the kids treated us to a show before we celebrated the occasion with a few nibbles and drinks. A wonderful evening was had by all and despite the emotion, all the parents were very proud of their little champs.

Southbank Returned to it's Former Beauty |
We enjoyed our first trip to Southbank following the floods this month. It was wonderful to see that despite the devastation caused during the floods, Southbank had almost fully recovered and was as great an attraction as ever. The kids had a blast, of course, and we are going to try and make many more trips to Southbank this summer, the floods showed us all how much we take so many things for granted in life. Southbank is too beautiful not to visit often. I’ve included some pictures below of Southbank during the floods.

Cake Time at Jack's Party |
Jacob was delighted to be invited to his friends Jack’s birthday party. He shared a great and VERY hot, afternoon celebrating with many of his friends from Kindy.

Jacob with Norris |
We welcomed a new member to the family, “Norris the Gnome”. I think this might be the start of something.

Proud Christmas Tree Decorators |
We broke from our normal tradition of putting up our Christmas tree during the first weekend of December and actually put it up on the last Friday of November. I know this is SUPER early but there was a good reason. Due to a spot of diarrhoea, Jacob had to miss his cricket training, a cause of major disappointment to him but let’s face it; accidents of this nature on the cricket field wouldn’t be a good thing. To help with the disappointment and to cheer him up we decided to put up the tree.
No individual updates on the kids this month but here’s a picture of each of them.
