March's Memoirs

Well who would believe another month is gone and we are into April already?  The Weeks, Months, Years are just flying by.  However looking on the bright side, summer is now behind us and we are heading towards winter, my most favourite time of the year.  I always like March; the weather is perfect for getting the kids outdoors for some fun.  It’s not yet cold but the sun isn’t so punishing either.  So here goes with what us Taylors got up to in March.

Saturday 12 March was Lilly’s Dora Adventure Birthday Party.  Her mummy did a fantastic job organising it, with maps and backpacks (buckets) and lots of animals needing rescuing.  The kids had a blast.  In true Dora style we need to look back at our most favourite part of the day.  Needless to say for Bella it was most definitely the food; at one point she was even trying to steal some straight from another kid’s mouth.  For Jacob, of course it was the slip and slide, which is always a hit when visiting the Daltons.

The following day the boys headed out together on their own to watch Coorparoo Cricket Club (the team Jason played/s for) play in the Grand Final.  Despite rain interrupted play over the weekend, all 3 grades that made the Grand Finals won.  A fantastic year for the club.  Despite Jason sitting the year out he still managed to make the end of year dinner, hmmm any excuse for a night out.  Jason didn’t actually get to watch much of the cricket as there was a playground nearby, which of course Jacob just had to go to.

After weeks and weeks of me nagging Jason to use up some holidays, he finally took a few days off, resulting in a 5 day weekend.  The weekend started with Jason nursing a stinking hangover after his cricket night out.  So we had a nice relaxing day at home.

On the Sunday we went out for a drive to the State Library, after driving around for 30 minutes and failing to find a parking space we gave up and headed back to the library at Carindale.  Jacob LOVES the library and gets rather overwhelmed by the volume of books and within two minutes he had already chosen a stack.

After the library we popped home for lunch and Mummy and Daddy decided some beer was needed so we headed off to Manly Bowls Club, the only pub within walking distance to our house.  The kids loved it as they had a lovely big stage to dance on, a dance floor to run on and when they were bored off that we went outside where they ran around on the bowling green’s.

On the Monday we had a day out at the Trot Racing at Albion Park.  The kids usually enjoy going to the races but this trip wasn’t too successful.  It was just way too sunny for the kids to play outside and they were in no mood for playing in the indoor area.  So we had some lunch, a few bets and headed for home.

We rounded Jason’s few days off by heading down to the park at Wynnum Waterfront with the kids for a morning of fun.  I always forget how good it is down there and we really should go more often.  Jacob spent at least an hour in the water play area.  We discovered that Bella DOES NOT like the feeling of sand under her feet and she just flat out refused to walk on it.

On the 25 March I celebrated my sixth year in Australia.  Another example of how the years are just flying by.  On the 26 it was a year since Jason proposed to me.  And what a year it has been.

Jacob
Jacob was very proud to become a member of the library this month and to get his very own membership cards.  I just love the simple things that provide so much pleasure to children.  He continues to enjoy his news time at Kindy.  Unfortunately due to some naughty behaviour he wasn’t allowed to participate during one of his news times this month.  However when he did participate, topics included his Buzz Light-year Toy and his love of Lego.
He is starting to learn to write his name and a few numbers and is getting quite good at copying them now.

Bella
Bella started the month with just 7 teeth but now she has a whooping 13.  She managed to pop out 6 teeth with no problems, no cranky pants or sleepless nights.
Her new trick this month is taking her nappy bag outside and putting it in the bin after she has her bottom changed, she thinks this is quite simply the best thing ever and applauds herself after doing so.
Bella absolutely loves the” Tellytubbies” and it is her favourite television show at the moment along with “Show Me, Show Me” from the CBeebies Channel.
